Conference Breakdown After the Opening Weekend

Despite Charles Barkley predicting doom and gloom for the Big Ten, the conference is clearly the top dog, racking up 10 wins and putting 4 of 7 teams into the Sweet 16. The Big East had a terrible opening round, but managed to save some face with a 3-0 Round of 32, putting their total tournament record at 6-5. The Big 12 is the joke of the tournament so far, but can get back to average if Kansas is able to make a deep run. One other interesting note is that the mid-majors are not really having a great tournament, despite all the upsets. Teams like Florida Gulf Coast and Harvard pulled off stunners, but all the favored mid-majors were upset in the opening few rounds to cancel out those successes.
