Bizzare Pair of Games

Say what you want about Fredette, I'll take Howard on my team anyday

The defending national champion Duke Blue Devils looked to be coasting to the elite eight in the 1st half of their game with Arizona Thursday night.  I’m not sure what happened at the break, but when the teams took the court in the second half, everything changed.  Arizona came out playing inspired, turned the Blue Devils over and started to get hot from the offensive end.  The Wildcats ended up outscoring Duke 55-33 in the second half to pull away from the top seed, locking up a spot in the elite eight.

In the other game, fourth seeded Wisconsin hit a terrible drought early in the second half of their matchup with the Butler Bulldogs and the Horizon League champion took advantage.  Butler built up a nearly twenty point advantage before Wisconsin was able to start making a run.  Down the stretch the Bulldogs looked very nervous, and committed some unforced errors, but in the end when they needed a key play or two, they were able to make those.  After making their miracle run to the championship game a year ago, Butler is now just one win away from back to back final four appearances.
